Aged just six, she for the first time appeared on stage the Migjeni Theater in Shkodër, Northwestern Albania, and 12 years later had her debut in Bulgaria too. It was here that Boryana (Bora) Dokle emerged as a singer after she had graduated from a music school with a piano major. Bora says she has always loved to perform before audiences - in theaters, the movie industry and the music business. Her latest performance was on St. Valentine's Day at Sofia Live Club.
While she sang she had her eyes closed. What are her thoughts in the meantime?
„On stage I think about music and the songs. This is music that I have created while alone at home, in dramatic or happy moments. To me music is everything, I cannot imagine life without it, and without my family either.”
Bora Dokle has chosen English for the songs she sings and the lyrics she writes. She spent 6 years as vocalist of Kokomania Band. Later she launched her own projects-Dokle&Greesh jointly with her husband Grisha Georgiev,Bora Dokle Project and others.
The Dokle family has strong creative genes. Bora's mom is a famous folk and pop singer in Albania, Cleopatra Dokle. Her gather Zehrudin is an intellectual of Bulgarian descent. Today the family lives in Sofia. Bora's two children have talent for music too.
Now comes Bora with what her main message in music is:
„It's just love. I think that love is everywhere- it has always been around and will continue to be. Without love, I cannot create songs. Love should be given and received. That is why I held the concert on St. Valentine. I am a staunch fan of love.”
In Bulgaria however this day is celebrated also as the Day of Vine Growers and Wine Makers.
„To me music is the strongest narcotic. Through it I give out and receive everything - love, goodness and happiness”, concludes the finalist in The Voice of AlbaniaBora Dokle.
