"Some time ago I had a conversation with Hristo Mutafchiev and whether seriously or not he offered me to make a song together. I had heard him singing before and I liked his voice. He has his own characteristic style both as an artist and as a singer. So when I received "The Poet" I decided that he would fit very well into the song. Director of the video is Stoyan Radev, and Hristo Mutafchiev also came to the shooting, which was a gesture of respect to me. I did not hesitate about the name of the album at all after I heard the lyrics of ‘The Poet'.”
The music of the majority of songs in the new album is the work of Alexander Iossifov.
"I can only say good things about Alexander Iossifov,” Lili Ivanova says. “He is an outstanding musician and composer. He is extremely intelligent and I have always respected him greatly. I am happy that I sang so many of his songs. Lyrics were written by renowned Bulgarian poets - Pavel Matev, Damyan Damyanov, Lyubomir Levchev. Alexander Iossifov recently called me on the phone and told me he wanted to thank me because I had not given up on him. ‘I have no reason to do it, because I'm thankful for the songs you wrote for me,’ I said. The album also includes Nayden Andreev’s piece ‘Shturche’ in new arrangement. The song has always been very well received by my audience. "
The design of the album is the work of Petya Ivanova, who has been working with Lili Ivanova for the past two years. Most of the new arrangements are the work of Angel Dyulgerov and were recorded in his studio in Plovdiv. "It was a great challenge to give new life and perspective to these compositions" - says the musician, who is also guitarist in the band of Lili Ivanova.
The singer will perform songs from the new album during an upcoming concert in London. It will be held on May 16th in "Troxy" club, which functions as a kind of multifunctional center for cultural and entertainment events in the British capital.
