The first concert of Diana Express took place 40 years ago in Yambol. This is the hometown of founder of the band Mitko Shterev. Diana Express has passed through a number of changes during the years. Vasil Naidenov, Georgi Stanchev, Chocho Vladovski are some of the renowned Bulgarian singers that contributed to its development. After them Ilia Angelov has taken their place as vocalist of the band to this day. Diana Express will remain in the music history of Bulgarian pop music with songs like "Sineva", "Utre," “Nasledstvo","Severina", and others.

"A band without a few hits to pass the test of time is nothing. We actually have more than seven hits. The most creative period for the band was between 1981 and 1984. During that time we created many of our best songs. I think that the main reason for our songs becoming hits are the lyrics. I am also very pleasantly surprised by the respect that the audience shows to us during the concerts.”

Currently Diana Express includes Mitko Shterev, Iliya Angelov, Biser Iossifov, Zhivko Topalov and Alexander Georgiev. Together they continue to have concerts across Bulgaria.

"We have traveled across most of the country, as our latest concerts took place in Dobrich and Yambol. We want to celebrate properly the 40th anniversary of the band. The pleasure for us and our fans is incredible. People know by heart our entire repertoire. There are 20 more towns that are part of the tour, which will continue in 2015. After New Year we will have a concert in Sofia, but it requires more organization as we want to shoot it. "

This autumn the five musicians had a concert for their Bulgarian fans in London. Mitko Shterev was impressed by the beautiful and old theater where the concert took place. More than 700 people came to the show that ended with encores. After returning to Bulgaria, the band prepared a surprise:

"The song is called 'Magistralata' and it is my idea,” Mitko Shterev says. “The single also includes a piece performed by Alexander Georgiev - guitarist of "Diana Express". This is the theme song from the Osadeni Dushi movie and next year 40 years since its creation are marked. Its new version sounds more like a rock ballad. The forthcoming album will include these two compositions and eight brand new songs. There will be melodic rock with acoustic and electric guitars, piano. I hope to make some good music."

It seems that 2015 will not be less exciting for Diana Express. Besides the release of the new album, the band is gearing up for a tour in the US and Canada.
