With the coming of Christmas most of the Christian world becomes gripped by festive mood. Besides the traditions and customs, music also plays an important role in the festivities in Bulgaria, just like anywhere else. Beloved musicians usually have concerts during this period of the year. Bulgarian jazz singer Vassil Petrov will also surprise his fans with a tour. Here is what he told Radio Bulgaria:
"The idea came from the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra. I had invitations from other cities for Christmas concerts, so I decided to combine all of them in a tour. I have a rich repertoire for Christmas, which includes classic American and Bulgarian music. Arrangement of the 15 pieces is the work of jazz pianists Rumen Toskov - Rupel, Angel Zaberski Jr. and Vasil Spasov. I also plan to shoot an official video to a song I recorded last year. I perform it together with the Bonbon children’s choir and it is called ‘Where is Bethleem?’”
Vasil Petrov will bring Christmas mood to his fans on December 16th with a concert in Bulgaria Hall. He will appear on stage together with the Sofia Brass Orchestra and popular pop and operetta singers. After this concert the singer would start preparing for his Christmas tour.
During the tour I will be accompanied by symphonic orchestras and Vladimir Boshnakov will be the main conductor. The tour starts in Stara Zagora on December 19. After that there will be concerts in Veliko Tarnovo with the brass band of the city, in Targovishte /21.12/, Varna /22.12/ and Ruse /23.12/. The tour ends on December 25th with a Christmas concert in the Bulgaria Hall in Sofia organized by the Bulgarian National Radio.
Fans of the singer will hear “Let it Snow,” “Ave Maria,” “White Christmas,” as well as evergreen hits like “My Way,” “Killing Me Softly,” and others.
Recently Vassil Petrov has recorded a duet with Sofia Georgieva. The jazz piece is called "Mirror Image."
