Over the past 35 years Sprint has gone through different changes, both as a formation and regarding their style. Melody rock and new wave are only part of the formation’s music experiments. Their success has been proven by some of the songs that are now part of the history of the Bulgarian pop music. The active recording activities of the band with the BNR back in the 1980s were an important segment within their development. Sprint also used to be part of the BNR Big Band, as its rhythmic section.

The formation continues its development in time and wouldn’t stop releasing songs and new projects. For more than two decades the musicians have been having concerts in Russia, the former Soviet republics as well as in Asia. The rock band is still a wanted guest in Japan and South Korea.

Peyo Peev /drums and vocal/ the creator of the formation, gives us more details on the history of the latest CD – In A Café for Two:

“The album has been long expected by us and the fans, as we have recorded it for a year. The style – it is British pop, you might say. The interesting thing is that now we don’t have female voices, unlike other times. The idea for the project came from late Petar Gyuzelev /Shturcite/. He used to work a lot with us over the last few years. We were recording an album of his, I heard several songs that he hadn’t included, I liked them and so Pepi gifted them to Sprint. Thus we recorded the In A Café for Two single that named the whole new album. We decided to devote it to Petar Gyuzelev. We have also included a song in his memory – A Star Gone to the Sky, with the lyrics of Volen Nikolaev. The project also has my compositions in it, pieces of Asen Dragnev /keyboard/ and one of Emil Kolev /bass, vocal/ - he is our youngest colleague. I think it all went well with this album. One of our latest songs – Advice, became popular in Russia and caused our forthcoming tour there. We expect success…”

In December the musicians will promote their new album in Sofia. Now their excitement is related to forthcoming concerts in well-known destinations. The Sprint will tour in Russia end-October:

“The program that we have prepared will present both songs from the new album and also singles, well-known to the Russian audience,” Peyo Peev goes on to say. “We are members of a rock federation there. It organizes concerts and hence the travels. Our tour now includes Moscow, South Novgorod, Astrakhan and Kazan. We will sing together with the famous Russian Alice formation. We will share the same stage with a 45-minute-long set for each.”

After Russia Sprint will have 5 concerts in Armenia and Georgia. In the beginning of 2015 the Hard Rock Café in Tokyo will host their two concerts. The Asian tour of the rock band will continue with several more music shows in South Korea.
