On March 7^th and 8^th, the stage of Sofia Live Club will become an arena of musical challenges. The occasion is the 3^rd edition of the festival of brass music Brazzobrazzie. This time the organizers from the Brass Association have prepared an interesting program presented by Bulgarian and foreign musicians. Undoubtedly, the name that will attract jazz music lovers this year is Jiggs Whigham – a trombone player of huge world renown. He will open the event with a concert of music and will perform his repertoire along with the Big Band Brass Association.

Vili Stoyanov from BrazzVilliDJ, a colleague and organizer of the event, tells RB more about Jiggs Whigham and the festival:

"Trombonist Jiggs Whigham is a very active jazz performer. He is the direct follower of another music titan – Urbie Green, known for his virtuoso performance in the high register of the instrument. Jiggs Whigham is also president of the International Trombone Association (ITA). He runs exceptional activities in Europe for many years. He has been professor at several musical academies, conductor of the BBC Big Band, artistic director of the Berlin Jazz Orchestra and BUJAZZO (the German National Youth Jazz Orchestra). He has played and recorded with names like Stan Getz, Ella Fitzgerald, Bill Evans, Tony Bennett and others. Jiggs Whigham is also known as a conductor and composer. Being popular also for his teaching activities, there is certainly a lot to learn from him. Therefore we organize a master class, which he will lead. For us this will be a great experience."

The program of the second night of Brazzobrazzie will continue with lots of dancing. More from Vili Stoyanov:

"The leader of the band DeFuegoOrcestra is Dimitar Lazarov – a dancer who plays the guitar and sings. He set up a formation that makes great concerts. Everybody loving the rhythm of salsa visits their gigs. We invite them to the festival for the first time. I am convinced that this will turn into an amazing party as DeFuegoOrcestra always play with great zeal and spirit. We will open the second night with a project of trumpeter Rosen Zahariev Rocco - Metamorphosis. After him on the stage of Sofia Live Club we will see the musicians from the RomaNenoProject. We will perform both pieces from their debut album, which came out a few months ago, and from the upcoming album. The third edition of Brazzobrazzie will end with music offered by the French band Funky Style Braz. They are eccentric and very talented musicians as their style very diverse and they do a real brass show."

Funky Style Brass are nine musicians with a wonderful sense of humor, goofy costumes, catchy music and boundless energy. In their compositions they combine original music and lyrics. They create a unique, funky atmosphere, while paying homage to the traditions with their powerful brass sound. The jazzmen have regular appearances in France and at festivals in Europe.
