The MPs from the National Assembly Energy Committee have postponed by one year the full liberalization of the electricity marker. According to the current law, it was supposed to happen from July 1, 2024. This means that on July 1, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission will again have to decide on the price of electricity for households at regulated prices, the BNR’s reporter Rumyana Vasileva informed.
The postponement comes after the approval of three draft laws introduced by the Bulgarian Socialist Party, There Is Such a People, and a joint bill by GERB and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. Only the representatives of We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria voted against.
