''There is no direct military threat for Bulgaria and this country is not changing its combat readiness'', caretaker Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov said for bTV. ‘’Israel will not respond that directly, there are other methods of influence. I don’t think there will be escalation’’, Minister Zapryanov said.

Bulgaria, as part of the European Union's efforts for de-escalation, participates in the drafting and supports the joint statement and position on behalf of the 27 EU countries on Iran, the caretaker cabinet said on Facebook. EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell announced that he had convened an extraordinary video conference meeting of EU Foreign Ministers on Tuesday in connection with Iran’s attack against Israel. Borrell has already spoken to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, to whom he said that the ‘’EU condemns in the strongest terms the Iranian drone and missile attacks against Israel’’.
