During a short ceremony "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) returned the completed second mandate to form a government to President Rumen Radev. Prime Minister designate Nikolai Denkov said he expected the president to issue a decree for vote on the government in parliament and then have a smooth transfer of power, according to constitution. "I think we all need to calm the situation so that people know that the cabinet, the parliament and the presidential institution are working together," Denkov said.

"Bulgaria needs institutions and politicians who work for the Bulgarian people, who work for security, justice and against corruption, as expected by all honorable Bulgarian citizens," the president said. Radev promised to issue the decree as quickly as possible and called on MPs to vote according to their conscience without regard to party orders.

"A normal budget must be drawn up in the shortest possible time, without this absurd deficit," Denkov told journalists at the entrance to the presidency.
